Jaisalmer, the golden city
Jaisalmer, an important ancient trading centre because of its strategic location on the camel trade routes, is often described as the ‘golden city’. Jaisalmer is blanketed in golden-brown sand. Studded with stone forts and palaces, the enchanting city is one of Rajasthan’s secret gems.

The Jaisalmer Fort is a magnificent foundation laid in the midst of the sandy terrain of the Great Thar Desert. Jaisalmer Fort is the epitome of Indian artwork and design and military magnificence. It is the crowning glory of the Golden City of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.
